Choosing Warhammer Miniatures and Gundam Model Kits

Choose a model by the project you want to build: a playable unit for a particular tabletop game, a Gundam display model, or a creature for a roleplaying encounter. Similar-looking boxes can serve very different purposes.

For Warhammer: start with the game and army

Warhammer 40,000, The Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar and The Old World are different game systems. Match a kit to the system and army you play before choosing a unit. A name alone does not establish that every unit can be used in every army or rules edition.

For example, Space Marines Intercessors, Eradicators with Heavy Bolters and a Rhino fill different hobby and tabletop roles. Check current official rules for the army you intend to build, including which units a transport can carry.

For Gundam: check the grade, scale and exact design

Our Bandai selection includes HG and HGCE model kits in 1/144 scale. Scale describes a model’s proportions relative to its fictional subject, not a single finished height shared by every kit. The grade and exact kit version also matter when comparing products.

HGCE Freedom Gundam Revive and HG Perfect Strike Freedom are different mobile suits and kits. Choose the design you want rather than treating their similar names as interchangeable.

For D&D: painted display piece or painting project?

Check the product line and finish. A prepainted figure and a primed miniature are different purchases: primed means the model is prepared for painting, not already painted in finished colors. Large creatures also need suitable table and display space. Check stated dimensions when considering something such as the Gargantuan Tarrasque.

Before you order

  • Confirm the game system, unit or mobile suit, and exact version.
  • Read the condition and whether assembly or painting is required.
  • Check which tools, paints, bases or accessories are included; do not assume they come with every kit.
  • Check that any separately purchased display base or option part fits your kit.
